What does the term "allover" mean?

Allover fabric is a fabric that has the design repeated all over. The Provençal allover fabric is typically used for napkins, back of placemats or any coordinated accents and is made up of small symbols that coordinate with the "full pattern".

Some designs, such as Indiennes, French toile or paisley styles, only come in an allover design.
